This describes exactly what the site does, not a generic template. It is short because the site collects very little.

What we collect, and when
Nothing at all while you browse. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no session cookie and no third-party font request — the typefaces are served from our own domain.
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, telephone number and delivery address, together with the items ordered. We need these to fulfil the order and to verify that we are selling tobacco to an adult, which Swiss law requires.
When you submit an enquiry or subscribe we collect the address and any details you type into the form, and use them only to reply.
What is stored in your browser
The site keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it:
cm.cart.v1— the items in your selection, so they survive a page reload.cm.currency— whether you chose CHF or EUR display.cm.age-verified— that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so you are not asked again.cm.orders— a copy of your own order confirmations, so you can recover a reference.
These are strictly functional. You can clear them at any time through your browser's site settings, which will empty your selection.
Third parties
If you choose to pay by cryptocurrency, your browser requests an exchange rate from CoinGecko in order to quote the amount. That request contains no order or personal data. No other third-party service receives anything.
Carriers — Swiss Post and DHL — receive the name and address needed to deliver your consignment, and nothing else.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for ten years, as Swiss commercial bookkeeping law requires. Enquiries are deleted once resolved. Subscription addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and the GDPR where it applies to you, you may ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, or have it deleted where we are not legally obliged to keep it. Write to sales@barscigarsandbrew.com and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or your national supervisory authority.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page rather than change it quietly.
