The 12-Digit Republic of Cuba Micro-Barcode
Located on the green Republic of Cuba National Warranty Seal (Sello de Garantía Nacional de Procedencia), this 12-digit numerical identifier is unique to each individual box. It appears in micro-print along the edges and in standard barcode format. To verify, visit the official Habanos verification portal (habanos.com) and enter the 12 digits without spaces. The portal will return the exact brand, commercial name, vitola, and packaging format. If the database returns an error or describes a different product, the box is not authentic.
Holographic Foil & Hidden UV Markings
Modern Cuban warranty seals feature a silver holographic foil stripe on the right edge displaying the Cuban national coat of arms and the Habanos logo in high-definition rainbow iridescence. When placed under a 365nm ultraviolet (UV) lamp, the seal reveals a hidden fluorescent coat of arms invisible to the naked eye. The micro-barcode itself will also fluoresce with a distinct greenish glow.
Factory Date and Master Rolling Code Stamp (Nivel)
On the underside of every genuine wooden dress box or cedar cabinet, you will find two hot-stamped markings: the factory code (e.g. TUA, MAR, UAO) and the rolling month/year (e.g. DIC 23). The font must be uniform and impressed into the natural wood grain, never printed with an ink-jet or thermal sticker.
